Thousands of users were unable to access Facebook Inc’s platforms on Friday, including WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, according to outage monitoring website Downdetector.com.

Downdetector collects status reports from a variety of sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform, to track outages. It’s possible that the outages are reaching a greater number of people.

The hashtag #whatsappdown is trending at #1 on twitter. This happened suddenly after 10:55pm Friday, 19 March 2021.

According to user reports, many people are unable to access Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp. The specifics on DownDetector, a downtime monitoring site, show that the issues are mostly reported in most parts of Europe, where it has already received hundreds of complaints.
