The Rise Insight: What sparked the idea for Accidental Love? Was there a particular moment or experience that inspired you?
Naved: Accidental Love was born from my fascination with how unpredictable love can be. Sometimes, the most unexpected encounters lead to the deepest connections. While there wasn’t a single event that inspired the story, I was drawn to the idea that love isn’t always planned or conventional. It often finds us when we least expect it, and sometimes in people we never imagined falling for. I wanted to explore the beauty of that unpredictability, how emotions evolve, and how love has the power to change us in ways we never foresee.
The Rise Insight: Your book beautifully captures the ups and downs of modern love. Is this story based on real events, or is it purely fictional?
Naved: While Accidental Love is a fictional story, many of the emotions, conflicts, and relationships in the book are inspired by real-life experiences—either my own observations or stories I’ve heard. Love, misunderstandings, heartbreak, and reconciliation are universal emotions, and I wanted to create a story that feels authentic and relatable. The characters may not be based on specific people, but their struggles, dilemmas, and emotions reflect real human experiences.
The Rise Insight: Long-distance relationships can be challenging. What made you want to explore this theme, and do you think love can truly overcome physical distance?
Naved: Long-distance relationships are one of the biggest tests of love and trust. In today’s world, with people traveling for studies, careers, or family obligations, many relationships are challenged by physical distance. I wanted to explore whether love can survive when two people are separated by miles and time zones.
Love isn’t just about being physically close; it’s about emotional connection, commitment, and the willingness to bridge the gap. While distance brings challenges—misunderstandings, insecurities, and longing—it can also strengthen love if both partners are dedicated. True love, when nurtured with patience and trust, can overcome any distance.
The Rise Insight: Possessiveness is a strong emotion in the story. How do you think it plays a role in love, and where do you draw the line between love and control?
Naved: Possessiveness is often mistaken for love, but in reality, it stems from fear—fear of losing someone, fear of not being enough, or fear of abandonment. While a certain level of protectiveness is natural in relationships, love should never feel suffocating.
In Accidental Love, I wanted to explore the fine line between love and control. When possessiveness turns into dominance, insecurity, or manipulation, it can damage a relationship. True love should allow freedom and individuality while building trust and security. The healthiest relationships are built on respect, understanding, and the ability to love someone without the need to control them.
The Rise Insight: Writing about emotions so deeply must have been intense. Were there any scenes that were especially difficult or personal for you to write?
Naved: Yes, there were several moments in the book that were emotionally challenging to write. Scenes dealing with heartbreak, separation, and misunderstandings were particularly intense because they required me to tap into deep emotions.
One of the most difficult scenes for me was writing about emotional pain—the kind that lingers long after a breakup or an argument. I had to put myself in the characters’ shoes, feel their hurt, their confusion, and their longing. I think every writer pours a bit of their own experiences and emotions into their work, and that made some parts of the story deeply personal.
The Rise Insight: Your characters face misunderstandings, insecurities, and hurdles. What advice would you give to real-life couples navigating similar struggles?
Naved: Communication is the foundation of any strong relationship. Most misunderstandings arise from assumptions rather than reality. If couples take the time to openly express their thoughts, feelings, and fears, they can avoid many conflicts before they escalate.
Trust is another crucial factor. Insecurities are natural, but when they start dominating a relationship, they create distance rather than bringing people closer. Love thrives in an environment where both partners feel secure, valued, and respected. Instead of letting small doubts grow into major problems, it’s important to address them with honesty and understanding.
The Rise Insight: If you had to sum up Accidental Love in just three words, what would they be?
Naved: Unexpected. Passionate. Transformative.
Love often arrives in our lives when we least expect it. It takes us on an emotional journey filled with highs and lows, pushing us to grow and evolve. The characters in Accidental Love experience this transformation, learning more about themselves and love along the way.
The Rise Insight: What do you hope readers feel after finishing your book? Is there a particular message you want to leave them with?
Naved: I hope readers walk away from Accidental Love with a deeper appreciation for love’s unpredictability. Love doesn’t always follow a perfect script—it’s messy, complicated, and at times painful, but that’s what makes it so real and beautiful.
The message I want to leave is that love isn’t about perfection; it’s about connection, effort, and growth. Whether or not a relationship works out, every love story teaches us something valuable about ourselves and what we truly want in life.
The Rise Insight: Do you believe in destiny when it comes to love, or do you think love is something we choose and build over time?
Naved: I believe love is a mix of both destiny and choice. Sometimes, two people cross paths in a way that feels fated, as if the universe conspired to bring them together. But staying in love is a choice—one that requires effort, patience, and commitment.
Love isn’t just about finding the right person; it’s about choosing them every day, through the ups and downs, through the good times and the difficult ones. It’s something we nurture and build, making it stronger over time.
The Rise Insight: What’s next for you as a writer? Are you working on a new book, or do you have any exciting projects in mind?
Naved: Writing Accidental Love was an incredible journey, and I’m excited to continue exploring different stories and emotions. Right now, I’m working on new projects, including a poetry collection and another novel that dives into love and relationships from a fresh perspective.
I love telling stories that resonate with readers on a deep, emotional level, and I hope to keep creating narratives that make people feel, reflect, and connect. There’s so much more to explore in the world of love, loss, and self-discovery, and I can’t wait to share more stories in the future.
